Pondering Points from Gail's Desk

Do You Really . . .

Know How To Pray?

Can You Personally Get God's Attention Through Prayer?

Did you know that the first key to praying is to let the Lord God know that you believe the prayer you are about to pray will be answered....and you will not doubt this...In the book of
John 11:41-42 it states:
41. part b: And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
42. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
So Jesus, Himself, was acknowledging to the people that He knew the Father would hear that prayer.

The Second Key to Prayer is believing. You must believe that what you ask for will be given. There is no reason to even ask God to do anything if you are going to doubt Him. An example of doubting this would be when you pray over and over the same prayer. Some people actually are begging God. God will not hear those prayers. He puts it plain in His word that you pray knowing you will be heard and believing it with your heart.

In the book of James 1 in verses 6-8 it states:
6. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

So if you have to keep asking God Oh Lord, Please let so and so happen, and find yourself asking again and again...it is a lost cause. Read His word. I am not just making this up. He gives us examples of how to pray.

He states in Matthew 6:7-8
7. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Again, He is saying, please don't say the same old prayers over and over to me. Don't just repeat something you have heard, or think will stir me. Talk to me, tell me what it is that is bothering you....Have a conversation with me.

Another big thing is...praying, "Oh, Lord, let thy will be done." Please everyone realize what God's will is...He tells us in Matthew 16:19(b)
and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

This tells us here what God's will is. He is basically saying that He wants the same thing on earth as it is in Heaven. If everything is perfect, healed, safe in heaven it is so on earth. He wants us to pray and bind the devil and his works on earth and loose God's power--for healing--for finances--for jobs--for whatever it is you are praying for.

Another point I need to make here is simple. If Jesus, a form of God, is living in you and you have a proper relationship with Him, don't you think you should know God's will already....He has already stated he wants things to be on earth as they are in Heaven...and if Jesus is interceeding for you to the Father, then why, oh why, do you keep praying...Lord, let thy will be done. You should know His will.

Jesus, Himself, tells us in Matthew 6: 9-13
9. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

God also tells us in Matthew 6:25-34 some very interesting thoughts
25. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26. Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27. Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28. And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29. And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31. Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32. (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

God is saying, please don't ask Him where you will get your food, your clothes and things for the next day....For if he loved the flowers enough to clothe them, won't he even more clothe you? Verse 31 says take no thought as to what shall you eat, drink or how will you be clothed...for He, God, already knows that you have need of these things.

BUT HE SAYS that in verse 33, if you will just seek Him and His Kingdom first and His righteousness....then ALL the things you have need of will be provided to you and for you. Then you will not have to worry about tomorrow....Take thought just of today....it holds enough trials in it itself.

Think on these things...read His word...and consider how you pray...is it the way He says to pray....do you truly seek Him and His face and His kingdom....with all you have? Or do you literally keep just saying, "Lord, let they will be done. Oh God, please help us or me. You know we need this and You know we need that. Please God help us we pray. Amen" Please....know that God loves you and wants a personal relationship with you and wants you to follow His instructions in His Word.

Just some pondering points that could change your life.

God Bless,
Gail

I would like to take this opportunity to say now that if you do not really "KNOW" the Savior with all your heart, mind, body and soul, and you wish Him to come into your heart and help you change, please just say this simple prayer.

Our Heavenly Father, I come before you with my sins. I am a sinner and I want to be free and clean. Please come into my heart and save me and accept me as one of Your children. I do not want to go to hell. I want to spend eternity with You and Your children. Please Father, I believe that Jesus is Your son, born of a virgin, and that He died on the cross for all sins, including mine. I believe in the Trinity and I know You love me. Please, I know You may not give me another chance, so let me accept You now. Amen

Now if you prayed that prayer the Bible says you will need to do only two things. One, is be baptised through the immersion of water, like Jesus was, and the other is to confess with the mouth to others that you are now a Christian.

You may call me at 803-684-9599 and if you like I will pray the prayer with you and if you need a Bible one will be sent to you through my ministry with other study helps.

See, it is all Faith. Just believe in your heart you are saved, live like Jesus said--and He will help you do that when He moves in---and have Faith that you are now His. God Bless,

Gail
