A Poem About Kidney Dialysis

"Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Mercies, and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God."
2 Cor. 1: 3&4.

My day was Monday and Wednesday,
My time was 10:15,
Sitting on the right, next to Mrs. Daniel's,
My chair was # 3.
My center had no TV,
It was often very cold,
I would take a blanket, and something to read,
And think about being back at home.
I was the youngest person in the place,
And people often replied:

"Your too young to be on this machine,"
I must admit, at times I would wonder "why?"
Each scheduled day I would arrive on time,
Weigh myself, and get into the chair,
Ready to be dialyzed.
Never really wanting to be sitting in that chair,
I was feeling sorry for myself,
Until I said this prayer:
Dear Lord, How I need you near me,
I must admit I'm scared,
This all seems so overwhelming Lord,
I'm weighted down with a load of care,
I feel so run down at times,
Just like a car run out of gas,
And then there's the tubes and the scars,
And the questions that people ask.
But I know that your word promises,
You will never put more on me than what I can bear,
But Lord I've sure grown weary,
Sitting here in this chair.
Though there all people all around me,
Trained to give me care,
How could they possibly understand, the burdens that I bear?
Don't get me wrong Lord, I'm thankful to be alive,
For I know without you Lord, I would have surely died!
Help me on my journey, though the road seem hard and long,
Help me on to remember it's when I'm weak, that I am strong.

This is dedicated to all those who are on dialysis.
Psalms 31:7 "I will gladly rejoice in thy mercy: For thou hast
considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities."

BIT OF WISDOM:
"We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
